Gentle and precise cutting of sensitive materialsRotary sawing

Rotary sawing, which is gentle on the material, is used particularly in cases where relatively large workpieces made of sensitive and hard, brittle materials, such as polysilicon, glass or various ceramics, have to be cut. The clamped workpiece rotates around its own axis, thus being fed to the counter-rotating cutting edge of the saw. This machining method requires particularly precise working, necessitating extensive experience in handling the materials concerned.

Rotary sawing is classed as a gentle method of cutting hard, brittle materials, such as silicon, technical glass and ceramics. In some cases, it is only with this method that machining materials with high internal stress (such as polysilicon) is even possible. The larger the workpieces to be machined, the more complex the machining: Large-scale workpieces with stress are particularly likely to develop deep cracks if the stress is released abruptly. With our vast experience, we ensure that we meet even the highest quality standards. Our customers for rotary sawing primarily include companies in the primary (extractive) industries, in the process-technology sector and in research and development.
